     Bishop DL Smith is a native of Norfolk, Virginia. Bishop DL is a humble and gifted servant of God whose ultimate desire is to simply do the Will of God. Bishop Smith is an anointed, appointed, and dynamic deliverer of the Word of God.

     Bishop Smith served honorably as a veteran of the United for twenty-six years. While on duty, Bishop DL toured in Iraq where he was selected to pastor the gospel service from 2006-2007 and in Afghanistan were he was selected to serve as pastor the gospel service from 2009-2010. Bishop Smith retired in 2011 as a Command Sergeant Major.

     Bishop Smith's educational accomplishments include an associate of Management degree from Texas College, a Business Management degree from Maryland University, a Bachelors of Ministry degree from New Jerusalem Institute & Seminary Colorado Springs, Colorado.

     Bishop Smith has received numerous awards both from the civilian sector and throughout his military career. The most noted of these awards would be five bronze stars and a special humanitarian award that he received from the Missouri State Governor and the United States Army Chief of Chaplin's for his service in the Missouri National guard during 9/11 when the state was without a Chaplin.  

     Bishop DL was called into ministry in September 1987. Bishop Smith served as the Pastor of Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church located in Springfield, Missouri. Under Bishop's tutelage many souls were saved and various ministries were launched at Mount Olive. the youth and college ministries were one of the greatest in the city and they were also well-known for their Black History Summer School. Bishop Smith has the heart of God which radiates through his ability to lead the flock entrusted to him by God. 

     In August 2015, God placed Bishop DL in the position of Chief Under-Shepherd of the Mount Zion Interdenominational Christian Community church. Bishop ministers the Word of God with power, authority, and conviction that evokes change in the lives of people. Bishop considers himself blessed to have been afforded the opportunity to minister in every state in the United States and seventeen countries throughout the world. Leaning on the motto, "I am determined to reach the loast at any cost," Bishop goes above and beyond the call of duty to fulfill his assignment.

     Bishop DL is married to Arlene Cherry-Smith, they have three children Chermera, Danyeil, and David II and he is the proud grandfather of Isaiah, Olivia, Zakiya, and David III.
